"Letting go"

During the time between the full moon and the new moon we are more motivated to shed what isn't working for us.  The past few moon cycles have led to a powerful letting go of old needs or neediness. I Have been in a process of letting go for a year now.  It is truly a process.  It is something that has to be felt inside; a need for a happier state of being; no matter what your external circumstances look like and no matter how you got there.  Sometimes it is through our relationships that we see what we are hanging on to and what still needs work.  If we allow these experiences to teach us, we begin to create a new state of being.  I am enjoying my new state of being, but I have learned that it requires nurturing and protecting.

Learning to love myself enough to give myself what I truly need has been a powerful lesson that continues to bring new teachers into my life.  It is by simply embracing the lesson that has lead to a sense of grounded strength.  We will continue letting go until the day we die; it never ends but, I do believe it can become a more graceful process.

This song touches a deep chord in me.  He is a very talented young man with a powerful voice.  Check out his other music.

This is an old process painting that my granddaughter loves.  I recently met someone who does this type of painting full time.  It has inspired me to reexamine my work and my process.  Not only is it healing to paint this way but it is less ego bound.  I was truly bringing up the unconscious and growing during this time in my life.  When my art became about success, I didn't have the same relationship to it.  Art and beauty are everywhere but you're subconscious is only in you.  It makes it the most unique place to go and the most fulfilling place to express from.  I may be letting go of that which does not serve me, but I am reexamining that which once did.  Recycling happens on all levels!
