I am always learning about the limitations of my understanding of various astrological theories. I have studied composite theory for more than twenty years. I have looked at hundreds of couple charts. It is an amazingly accurate tool for describing the energy between two or more people. Still, human interpretation, experience, and dialogue are necessary for a clear picture of the purpose of the relationship and it's possible longevity. I recently had a powerful personal experience that made me aware of the limitations of doing a composite before two people actually get to know one another. There are aspects that indicate a beautiful union if the people involved want an intimate relationship, yet those same aspects can be difficult to deal with if the two people want a casual business like relationship. In other words, what is good for one type of relationship might be very difficult for another type. Some degree of objectivity is needed in all relationship, but more is needed in a business relationship than in a friendship or romantic relationship. Only through honest and open dialogue can the reality of the relationship be obtained. Neptune in hard aspect to mercury is an example of a need to take time getting to know one another. Neptune in the third house can also lead to misunderstanding. These are two examples of red flags that warn us to slow down. I have a thorough process that I use involving the composite chart, the individuals charts, and comparisons between all three. As I grow in knowledge and experience, I find this process the most revealing and helpful. Taos Balloon Fest 2015
